Small changes that make a big difference!

While we go through the design process with a client we are often asked our opinion on interior design choices that may be small, but make a huge difference in making your home look more sophisticated and luxurious without breaking the bank.

Taller upper cabinets

When we design kitchens we see and hear it all. One thing we hear about is how can we make our kitchen look more sophisticated and How can we have more storage? The answer is 42” upper cabinets. The upgrade is minimal but it automatically puts to use wall space, and levels up the look of your entire home. Making the walls feel taller and creating an upscale feel.

Upgrade the kitchen backsplash

If you are choosing to tile the backsplash in your kitchen it’s time to step it up. The upgrade is not that significant if you are also getting new countertops. So what is it? When you choose your countertop do the backsplash in a matching countertop. Adding the luxurious look but most important the durability of your countertop on the backsplash too!

Tile the walls in your shower

When a full custom tile or stone shower is not possible, the next best thing is to do a shower pan and do a nice tile on the walls.

Choose Trex decking instead of wood decking

We tend to see comparable pricing between doing a deck in trex to using wood decking. However, the maintenance on a wood deck has higher costs. So we say, do TREX deck instead. Give us a call if you want a quote.

Choose a color or wood grain garage door

a simple choice to add some color and or texture makes the exterior of your home have more value!

Beautiful lighting

The accessories can make or break it. Keep this in mind when you choose lighting, faucets and hardware. They can upgrade homes without an additional choice. We can help you pick accessories that help your home have a designer look!

The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live. It is about the realities of what makes for an attractive, civilized, meaningful environment, not about fashion or what’s in or what’s out. This is not an easy job.
