  2. Choose budget-friendly flooring:

  3. Don’t finish the basement right away:

This one is a given. Don’t finish the basement right away but do plan for the future and plan for rough plumbing.

  4. Semi-custom cabinets :

We have an in-house cabinet line that offers a great price with great construction. They allow you to pick from trendy or timeliness finishes. Gives you the custom look and solid construction but at a fraction of the cost of a custom kitchen.

  5. Pick some local materials:

Although you want to use the most popular and best materials for your home, there are materials that you can get locally to save money. This includes lighting, doorknobs and hardware, and plumbing finishes like faucets and sinks.

  6. Pick a lot that requires standard site prep:

One of the largest expenses outside of the cost to build the home is the cost to develop the property for construction. When you pick a lot, pick one that does not require a lot of tree removal, a long driveway, or will automatically need a retaining wall.
